Hanami is defined as the century old traditional Japanese custom of enjoying the transient beauty of cherry blossoms, a.k.a: Sakura. Sakura, or cherry blossoms are a symbol of gentleness and kindness.
The traditional way to celebrate Sakura is to party outdoors under the blossom-laden trees, day or night.
The National Cherry Blossom Festival is a symbol of the friendship between the U.S. and Japan. This year’s peak week is estimated to take place from 4/11 through 4/14. Mark your calendars and take your family and friends downtown to celebrate the tradition of Hanami by partying under the cherry trees.
Happy Gardening!
